Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, and account type (Tenant, Landlord, or Estate Agent). Your password is stored securely via our authentication provider, Keycloak — we never store it in plain text.
If you sign up as a Landlord or Estate Agent, your name and phone number may be shared with tenants who contact you about your listings.
Property Listing Information. If you list a property, we collect the description, address, price, photos, amenities, and the property's approximate map location you provide.
Location Information. When you list a property, a map pin is set for that property's coordinates. If you use the "Near Me" feature and grant location permission, the app uses your device's location to show properties near you. We do not access your device's location unless you grant that permission.
Payments. HomeQuestConnect is currently free to use, and we do not collect payment information. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will update this policy before any payment information is collected.
Photos. Property photos you upload are stored via Amazon S3 and are publicly viewable by anyone browsing that listing.
Reports and Blocks. If you report a listing, we store the listing, the reason you selected, and any details you add, so our team can review it. If you block a landlord or agent, we store that choice so their listings are hidden from you.
Usage Information. We track property view counts, WhatsApp inquiry counts, and properties saved to your wishlist to operate the Service.
Communications. The "Contact Landlord" feature opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. That conversation happens directly between you and the landlord/agent via WhatsApp, and is not stored or monitored by HomeQuestConnect.
We use the information above to create and manage your account, display property listings, show properties near you, facilitate contact between tenants and landlords/agents, review reported content and apply your blocking choices, send account-related emails (welcome, OTP verification, password resets, new-listing notifications), maintain the security of the Service, and improve the Service based on aggregate usage patterns.
Landlords/Agents: your name and phone number become visible to a landlord/agent only if you initiate contact via "Contact Landlord".
Tenants: if you list a property, your name and phone number are shared with any tenant who contacts you about it.
Service providers: Amazon Web Services (photo storage), Brevo (transactional email), and Keycloak (self-hosted authentication).
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HomeQuestConnect, our users, or the public.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Property listings are retained until deleted by the landlord/agent or removed by HomeQuestConnect for policy violations. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or accounting purposes.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of your account and associated data, or object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account at any time:
Deleting your account removes your personal profile information and any property listings you've created. Records we are legally required to keep are retained only for as long as the law requires.
HomeQuestConnect is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@homequest.co.zw and we will delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our servers, and secure password handling via Keycloak. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised policy.
